I am a soldier in the army of the Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ is my commanding officer. The Holy Bible is my Code of Conduct. Faith, Prayer, and the Word of God are my weapons of warfare. I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire.

As we announced we have at least three families who have lost everything in the tornado. Two of the families are members of the Pekin congregation in southern Indiana. While we may not be able to rebuild their homes, we can assist them in bringing their lives back together.

 Little did I know when I wrote the previous article affirming God’s absolute control over His creation that the people of Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky would face devastating storms that would take lives and threaten others. These storms came home when our son’s residence in Henryville, Indiana lie in the path of a storm packing winds up to 175 miles per hour. 

Last Tuesday, my daily Bible reading took me to the book of Judges. As I was reading chapter six this story jumped out at me. It is the story of the oppression of Israel by the Midianites and the deliverance at the hand of Gideon. It is an amazing example of the strength of a few people who are blessed by the Lord.
